Even as a little girl, Lisa was always emotionally intuitive, relationally oriented, and keenly aware of feelings, dynamics, and the importance of empathy. She has always valued growth, personal responsibility and honesty in her own life, and this continues to inspire her and fuel her passion for helping others to see their value and feel entitled to achieving the change they desire. Lisa prioritizes self-care and honors her values by engaging in activities that are personally nourishing. Lisa has always been a creative and artistic person, and finds it essential to have expressive outlets in endeavors such as urban gardening, cooking (see Blog), organizing, drawing, endless "art projects", and her first love, photography. Lisa holds her relationships with friends and family as the foundation of her life, and loves her two cats more than anyone can imagine. Lisa is a lover of all arts, and knows her life is enriched by food, music, dancing, beauty, and laughter. A Libra through and through, Lisa appreciates balance and aesthetics and hopes to inspire others with her positive outlook and demeanor. Lisa identifies as a white cisgender female and uses she/her pronouns.

Lisa is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York. She graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree after studying psychology, photography, philosophy and Buddhism. She considers herself extremely privileged to have also spent a year studying photography at the Glasgow School of Art.
Lisa received her Master of Arts and Master of Education Degrees in Counseling Psychology from Teacher’s College, Columbia University with an emphasis on multiculturalism and client centered counseling. She is a Certified Cognitive Remediation Specialist, and a Certified Holistic Health Coach after training at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where she gained extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. As a clinician Lisa constantly works to educate herself about new and effective ways to help clients achieve their goals.
Recently Lisa has continued to educate herself by studying about Mindfulness Based CBT modalities, Meditation, and the Mind-Body Connection.
Lisa is a caring, supportive and genuine therapist who works to understand people as individuals and will help clients explore their emotional health from a holistic perspective, including mind, body and soul. She works from an eclectic and client tailored perspective acknowledging that thoughts affect our feelings and behaviors, and that supportive relationships can empower individual change. Lisa’s focus is on helping you increase self-acceptance and compassion, using emotional expression, self-awareness and accountability. Lisa provides a safe, non-judgmental, and open space to discuss dreams, feelings and goals and to begin accomplishing growth in areas you identify. She emphasizes the therapeutic values of empathy, authenticity, and validation, and believes in the ability of humans to heal themselves and become fully actualized through personal insight and connection with their authentic selves.
Lisa practices a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that she looks at how all areas of your life are connected and impact you. As you work together, you will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole including: nutrition, exercise, work, relationships, spirituality etc. Lisa works with her clients to create happy, healthy lifestyles in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.
